This section covers questions about your entitlements and what you can claim for on your Simplyhealth plan. To speed things up, we've included direct links within the FAQs so you'll be taken to the correct information within your account when you click them.

Depending on the level of plan you have, you may or may not have the benefits that are talked about below. You can check what you’re covered for by looking at your 'Table of Cover' in your online account.

Entitlement details

When can I start using my entitlements?

You can claim for most benefits as soon as your plan starts, for treatment received after your start date. However there are a few benefits that have a qualifying period or exclude pre-existing conditions.

 

A qualifying period means, we won't cover you for treatment received under that benefit if it happens before the start date of your plan or at any time throughout the duration of your qualifying period.

 

A pre-existing condition is treatment that's been diagnosed, discussed or documented in your medical/dental records before your start date or during any applicable qualifying period.

 

You can check if there are any of these exclusions for the benefits included with your plan in your SimplyPlan app or online account. Go to 'My Documents' from the homepage and tap 'Table of Cover' or 'Terms and Conditions'.

When do my entitlements start again?

Your benefits and entitlements reset at your renewal date. You can check when your renewal date is in your online account, or for future reference, sign in and go to ‘My Policies’. Your renewal date is shown at the top of the page.

Where can I find how much I've got left to claim?

Find how much entitlement you have left under each benefit in your SimplyPlan app or online account. Just go to 'My Entitlements' from the homepage.

 

This will show you what benefits are included as part of your plan.

 

Use the filters to select anyone named on your plan and the claiming year you want to check. Then you can see how much that person has left to claim in the selected claiming year.

Where can I find my important policy documents like Table of Cover and Terms & Conditions?

You'll find all your policy documents in one place, in your SimplyPlan app or online account. Just tap 'My Documents' from the homepage.

Why do the benefits listed on the website differ to those shown in my account?

We’ve been providing health plans for a long time and, over the years, our products have changed. This means some of our customers have plans that we no longer sell.

Whilst we promote the plans we’re currently offering to new customers on our website, it’s easy to check the cover you have in place through the 'My Documents' section in your online account.

Make sure you have cover in place that suits you and your family. If you'd like to talk to us about reviewing your plan, send us a message, and our dedicated team will be able to help.

Can I carry over my unused entitlements into next year?

If you haven’t used all your entitlements, you cannot carry them over into the next year.

All of our health plans work by providing you with an annual entitlement you can claim back for each benefit during your plan year. At your renewal date, your entitlements are refreshed.

Don't worry if you've forgotten to make a claim, we don't close your entitlements off. You can still make claims on previous years' entitlements if you had treatment during that time and had entitlement remaining to claim back.
